Sandblasted Wood & HDU Signs

Sandblasted signs have a depth and character you just don’t get with flat materials. When they’re done right, they don’t just look good, they hold their presence for years.

We put a lot of thought into getting those details right. We’ll help you decide between wood and HDU, talk through what makes sense for your space, and make sure what we build is something you’ll feel good about every time you see it.

For us, it’s not about just making a sign, it’s about making the right one.

Wood Signs

Sandblasted cedar signs are carved from natural cedar to create depth, texture, and a traditional hand-finished look. The wood grain adds natural variation, giving each sign its own character.

HDU Signs

HDU (high-density urethane) sandblasted signs are created by carving a solid synthetic material designed to replicate the look of traditional carved signage while offering more consistency in shaping and detailing.

The Details Matter

Every sign is designed with longevity in mind. From material selection to finishing methods, we build our signs to handle the Pacific Northwest climate and continue looking great for years to come.

Different projects call for different materials. We’ll help you choose between wood and HDU based on your location, exposure to weather, maintenance expectations, and the overall look you’re going for.

A good sign should feel like it belongs there. We consider visibility, scale, surroundings, and how the sign will actually be experienced in the real world.

Every sandblasted sign we produce is hand painted and carefully finished in-house. We take our time with the details because those final touches are what give the sign its depth, character, and lasting quality.

Hometown Pride

A custom wood‑carved sign was crafted for Glacier West Storage, proudly honoring the Orting High School mascot. This unique piece blends craftsmanship with community spirit, showcasing detailed carving that highlights local pride.

The sign not only represents Glacier West’s support for Orting High School but also stands as a lasting tribute to tradition and teamwork.

Starting with an Idea

We work directly with our clients or graphic designers to determine the look and feel of what our customers are after and expecting.

Building a Design

We develop a full color mock-up of the design. We hope to get necessary feed back for changes until the design is approved.

Preparation

Now we are onto the building stage. We create a rubber stencil of the artwork and apply to material of your choice.

Sandblasting

The rubber stencil acts as a resist to the blasting process which is what creates the dimensional look and feel of the sign.

Painting

Our experts hand paint the sign using many layers of high quality paint to ensure it's not only beautiful, but long-lasting.
