A Local Sign Shop Without the Long Drive

We are not a franchise, and we do not have an office in Puyallup. We have one shop, at 14504 134th Street Court East in Orting, a short drive from downtown Puyallup. Everything gets designed and built there, then our crew brings it to you and installs it.

That short drive is the point. This city is practically our backyard, so a site visit, a proof review, or a quick fix after install does not turn into a week of waiting. You talk to the same small team from the first sketch to the final bolt.

Custom Signs for Puyallup Businesses, Built in Our Own Shop

Most projects we take on here fall into a few groups, and we handle each one ourselves from design through install.

If you are opening a storefront on Meridian or moving into a South Hill shopping center, our commercial exterior and interior signs cover monument signs, dimensional letters, post-and-panel signs for business parks, lobby signs, and ADA room signs. When the building needs to be seen after dark, we build lighted signs and channel letters and coordinate the wiring with our licensed electrical partners.

Local contractors and service companies keep us busy with vehicle wraps and fleet graphics, from a single work truck to a matching fleet. Retail and office tenants use our window and wall graphics for hours, logos, privacy film, and full-wall murals.

And if you want a sign with real character, our sandblasted wood and HDU signs are the work we are best known for. We carve cedar and redwood the traditional way, or use HDU when the budget or weather exposure calls for it.

We also make real estate and yard signs, banners, stickers, and custom apparel for customers across town.

Our Signs Are Already All Over Puyallup

You have probably driven past our work without knowing it. Over the years we have built signs for some of the most visible places in town, including the Welcome to Puyallup sign, the sign at the Puyallup Recreation Center entrance, the Puyallup Police Department Training Center wall sign, and the Puyallup Design Center sign.

That mix says a lot about who we work with. City facilities need signs that meet code and hold up to years of public use. Small businesses need something that looks sharp on day one and still looks good years later. We build both the same way, with quality materials, careful measurements, and an install crew that does not leave until the sign is level and secure.

It also means we know the area. We know how a sign reads from a busy arterial versus a quiet side street, and how Pierce County rain and moss treat wood, metal, and vinyl over time. That local knowledge shows up in the material we recommend and in how long your sign lasts.

Another Happy Customer

Valley Sign once again did an outstanding job recreating our "Welcome to Puyallup" entrance signs. They are three dimensional painted signs, exactly like the original. They are a pleasure and easy to work with, communicate very well on the progress of the project. Thank you

Where We Work, From Downtown to South Hill

We work across the whole city, from downtown and the blocks around the Washington State Fairgrounds to the shopping centers and offices along Meridian on South Hill. We also cover the River Road and Shaw Road corridors, the North Hill neighborhoods, and the business parks toward the valley floor.

Since Orting sits just southeast of town, nearby communities like Sumner and Bonney Lake fit into the same schedule. For projects farther out, see the full list of areas we serve across Pierce and King County.

Licensed, Insured, and Here for the Long Haul

We are a licensed, bonded and insured contractor in Washington, and we have been building signs in this part of Pierce County for more than 40 years. Over that time we have completed more than 12,000 projects for businesses, contractors, schools, and cities.

When your project needs electrical work, such as a lighted monument sign or channel letters, we bring in our licensed electrical partners to handle the wiring while our own crew handles the sign. You still have one point of contact for the whole job.

Puyallup Sign Questions, Answered

  • Do I need a permit for a business sign in Puyallup?

Usually, yes. Under the city's sign code, most permanent signs need a sign permit before they are installed or structurally changed, including wall, monument, and pole signs. Some window signs are exempt if they cover no more than 25 percent of each facade. The city's Permit Services team handles applications, and we can prepare the drawings and paperwork for you.

  • Are there height limits for monument signs in Puyallup?

Yes. Puyallup's sign code limits a monument sign to one foot of height for each foot of setback, up to a maximum of 10 feet. Height is measured from the finished grade, so the sign cannot be raised on a berm to get around the limit. We plan the design around your setback before we start building.

  • Do you have a shop or showroom in Puyallup?

No. Our only shop is in Orting, a short drive up SR 162. We come to your site to measure and install, and you can pick up smaller orders at the shop during business hours.

  • How long does a custom sign take in Puyallup?

It depends on the sign. Window graphics or a vehicle lettering job can move quickly. A monument sign or channel letters take longer because of permitting and shop time. Call us with your project details and we will give you a realistic timeline.

  • Can you repair or refresh an older sign?

Yes. We restore faded and weathered signs, including sandblasted wood signs that have taken a beating from the weather. Send us a photo or call with the details, and we will tell you whether a restoration or a new sign makes more sense for your budget.
